Organ Crosses | Gift to Concordia University Chicago | God's Gift of Music (Part 5)

This is an organ cross that I created for for Concordia University Chicago. It was officially dedicated to be in the organ and choir room on April 25, 2022. I was asked to give the piece a name, and I chose "Strains of Salvation." Below is the description that will be placed with it.

Strains of Salvation (Pipe organ, metal leaf, wood, 45"x45")

Christ’s strains upon the cross for us have been proclaimed with musical strains of praise. The organ pipes from this cross were used in congregational worship to accompany the words of Scripture and now serve as visual testimony to God’s gift of music. As they stretch out in four directions, they also give witness to the fact that the word from Christ’s cross is for all people. May the Gospel, accompanied with songs of praise, go out to the four corners of the earth.
